In liquid or thick form, honey integrates easily into our sweet and savoury preparations. Looking for indulgent recipes with honey? In the following lines, you will find other honey recipes.

Honey for adding a sweet note

Whether it comes from acacia, fir, chestnut or “wildflower”, honey, recognised for its beauty benefits, easily replaces sugar in the kitchen in sweet and savoury recipes. Essential for making a Christmas spice cake, honey flavours and sweetens many other desserts such as semolina cake, orange blossom or pistachio ice cream, roasted fruits, etc. In the kitchen, honey allows you to create delicious sauces such as soy honey sauce, honey with balsamic vinegar, etc. Bee nectar also caramelises under the effect of heat. It glazes white meats beautifully such as chicken, but also lamb or duck.

Some of the most popular honey recipes

Honey is a 100% natural food that offers many health benefits for the whole family. It brings a sweet touch to cooking, whether for a sweet or savoury recipe. If you enjoy sweet and savoury combinations, you will surely appreciate a comforting leg of duck glazed with honey and spices ; or even a shoulder of lamb confit with rosemary, honey and mustard ; not forgetting caramelised pork ribs. For fish lovers, you will relish a salmon fillet marinated in honey and sesame. You can serve it with roasted carrots with honey, cinnamon and cumin. For dessert, you have a choice between semolina cake, shortbread or gingerbread.

Which honey should you choose for your recipes ?

The French enjoy honey, indeed, 90% of the population consumes it regularly. But with so much honey available, how do you choose the right honey for cooking? Lavender, coriander, poppy, rosemary or chestnut, there are nearly 20 different species of nectar-producing flowers and therefore no fewer than 20 types of honey. Whether liquid or creamy, multi-floral or mono-floral, honey allows you to enhance a recipe. For vegetables, opt for mild and lightly scented honeys such as acacia honey or orange blossom honey. To prepare white meat, favour chestnut honey. The latter will add a touch of character. It is preferable to deglaze it and reduce it in sauce in order to bring out maximum aromas. If you use it in a marinade, go for the sweetness of acacia honey. To cook honey with fish, the ideal is to choose lemon blossom honey. The latter flavours your papillotes as it should.
