Since 2006, the “Sud de France” brand has been promoting agriculture, viticulture and agricultural production in Occitanie in France and worldwide. Its motto is as follows: authenticity, taste and conviviality. More than 10,000 products proudly showcase the brand, represented by the talented young Toulouse rugby player Romain Ntamack.

History of the Sud de France label

Created in 2006 by the Languedoc-Roussillon region, the “Sud de France” brand supports the promotion of wine, agricultural, agri-food products and the tourist destination of the region in France and abroad. In 2018, the Sud de France brand developed and launched numerous product ranges to best meet the needs of consumers and the diversity of the territory’s production: products from Occitanie, Organic from Occitanie and excellence of Occitanie.

  • Occitanie products refer to all South of France products. The products comply with a specification guaranteeing regional origin of raw materials, processing facilities in the Occitanie region and local expertise.
  • Occitanie Organic designates all products certified with “Agriculture Biologique” certification. Raw materials must also come from the Occitanie region.
  • Occitanie excellence qualifies all products bearing the quality and origin mark (AOP/AOC/IGP/Label Rouge). These products guarantee not only regional production, but also quality and local expertise.

Which products are labelled South of France ?

With a basket of more than 13,000 products, including 7,200 wines, the “Sud de France” brand thus offers a complete and representative range of regional products. All products comply with strict specifications guaranteeing Occitanie origin and are regularly checked by an independent body.

Buying Sud de France means having the guarantee of a local product, complying with rigorous specifications. At the Paris International Agricultural Show, around fifty producers display the “Sud de France” banner, such as the Aude wine estate Les Celliers d’Orfée, the Clermont l’Hérault olive oil cooperative, the jam maker La Fée Gourmande from Aveyron, or Safran de Pyrène.

How to join the Sud de France brand?

Joining the Sud de France brand is free and voluntary, via an online registration form. It will reference your product, not your company, and from your first application, you will benefit from a personal space where all your products will be gathered together with the Sud de France logo that you can affix to your packaging.

The validity period of the Sud de France brand for your product is 3 years. However, it is possible to renew it free of charge at your request. To be listed, each product must validate its respective field specifications. If one or more criteria are not met, you can request a waiver. The brand membership committee will investigate and decide on its eligibility.
